By 1808, Scottish-born Master Potter Alexander Trotter was producing earthen tablewares for the Columbian, including yellow tea and coffee pots, sugar boxes, jugs, baking dishes, chamber pots, and other items.

The bee or beehive was a symbol of industry and cooperation. Dunn Bennett & Co. mark c.1891-1907. 1886 was when Dunn Bennett moved to the Hill Works in Burslem. "ENGLAND" was added 1891 onwards. Most marks after 1907 have "& Co Ltd". Printed mark, 1887-1937. the Crown mark was introduced at the Royal Victoria Pottery.
DOULTON BURSLEM ENGLAND WATTEAU FLOW BLUE PLATTER
1901-1922 (also 1927-c. 1936) In 1901, the company introduced a new Doulton mark with the lion, crown and 'intersecting D motif'. The new mark and use of the name 'Royal Doulton' as opposed to 'Doulton' celebrate the grant of the Royal Warrant to Doulton by King Edward VII in 1901. This mark was used in various forms into the 1990s.
